Abstract

Absorption spectra in 0.2~1.5 THz region were measured for sulfamethoxazole pharmaceutical molecule with different polymorphic forms using time-domain terahertz spectroscopic technique. The observed THz absorption bands are strikingly sensitive to the change of subtle conformational structures within different polymorphs. The results show that the THz-TDS is a promising method in solid-state analytical tools to study polymorphism effect in pharmaceutical field.
