Markov Chain Modeling for High-Flux Single-Photon Detection with Dead Times

Abstract

Accurate modeling of high-flux single-photon counting systems requires accounting for the dependence of photon detection times. The limiting distribution of the resulting Markov chain can be used for lidar depth estimation and histogram correction.
