Self-consistent theory of Anderson localization in open random media

Abstract

Self-consistent theory of localization is adapted to open media by introducing a position-dependent renormalized diffusion coefficient. Non-exponential decay of time-dependent transmission and new power-law scaling of time-dependent reflection are found for random waveguides and slabs.
