Anisotropy in photonic crystals and plasmonic materials

Abstract

We propose to use 2D photonic crystals as a substrate in plasmonic devices. Due to strong anisotropy of the substrate, the propagation range of surface plasmon increases as compared to the case of isotropic substrate.
