Nanoaperture based Metamaterials

Abstract

We investigate metamaterials consisting of holes in thin metallic sheets that resemble nanocavities or nanoapertures. Resonances of these structures relate to modes localized inside the nanocavities. Their impact on effective material parameters is discussed.
