Sub-wavelength Discrete Solitons in Nonlinear Metamaterials

Abstract

We present the first theoretical prediction of sub-wavelength discrete solitons in nonlinear periodic metamaterials. These solitons result from the three-fold interplay between periodicity, nonlinearity, and surface plasmons tunneling in nano-scaled nonlinear metallic waveguide array.
