Generation and analysis of radial polarization fields in a picosecond-pulse laser beam

Abstract

We demonstrate an experimental method for producing radially polarized, picosecond-pulse laser beams with phase wavefronts that have either a planar, or a vortex structure. The focusing properties of the produced beams are analyzed and compared.
