Broadband Noncollinear Optical Parametric Amplification in GaSe Pumped at 1.5μm

Abstract

We demonstrate broadband parametric amplification in GaSe crystal in noncollinear geometry. Seed pulses spanning 1.5-2.6μm are produced by cascaded χ(2) nonlinearity in a periodically poled Rb:KTP crystal. Amplified pulse bandwidths supporting 10-15fs transform-limited pulse durations at ~2μm central wavelength are achieved.
