High-brightness supercontinuum sources: prospects for mid-infrared laser spectroscopy

Abstract

In this contribution, the current state of high-brightness supercontinuum generation is reviewed from the perspective of applied mid-infrared spectroscopy. The key emission properties of practical interest are discussed and quantified; potential spectroscopic scenarios are listed.
