Imaging of Surface Atoms and Their Wavefunctions with the Scanning Tunneling Microscope

Abstract

Recent advances in scanning tunneling microscopy are described which permit energy-resolved imaging of filled and empty surface states and allow state selective, chemical imaging of surfaces with atomic scale resolution.
