A Novel Optical Beam Splitter Based on Photonic Crystals*

Abstract

Square-lattice PCs are used to divide the incident light into several beams. Triangular-lattice graded-index PCs are combined to focus each branch. Thus the beam splitter has functions of both beam splitting and focusing.
