Abstract
The SKILL (Smith-Kettlewell Institute Low Luminance) Card was part of a battery of vision tests used to evaluate vision function in eleven 'recovered' optic neuritis patients1. Despite having normal or near normal visual acuity, most individuals showed residual deficits in other vision measures, including reduced color vision, contrast sensitivity, and S and M cone sensitivities. The SKILL Card (Figure 1), proved particularly sensitive, showing all of the 'affected eyes' and most (73%) of the unaffected eyes to be abnormal. In many instances, the loss revealed by the SKILL Card was quite dramatic.
