Abstract
With the unprecedented increase of internet and broadband services, communication industries are requiring new solutions to reduce network complexity and to provide low cost dynamic provisioning. Reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) is a promising network element to meet these requirements since it provides the flexibility of selecting arbitrary channels in wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) networks.
