Effects of Cumulative PDG on the Scalability of SOA-based Optical Packet Switching Networks

Abstract

Using a re-circulating loop we study the extreme cases of cumulative PDG in SOA-based packet switching nodes. We show that node polarization dependence could limit the physical layer scalability of optical packet switching networks.
