Abstract

We designed and fabricated a quasi single-mode fiber (QSMF) for the cost-effective implementation of broadband access networks. The core diameter of the fabricated QSMF was 20 μm. Using this fiber, we demonstrated the transmission of 10-Gb/s signal over 2 km.
