Optical Phase-Locked Loop for Coherent Transmission over 500 km

Abstract

We have realized an optical phase-locked loop for coherent transmission over 500 km using heterodyne detection with a 13C2H2 frequency-stabilized fiber laser. The phase error variance of the intermediate frequency signal was 7.9×10-3 rad.
