Guided mode gain competition in Yb-doped rod-type photonic crystal fibers

Abstract

The gain competition among the guided modes in Yb-doped rod-type photonic crystal fibers with a low refractive index core is investigated with a spatial model to demonstrate the fiber effective single-mode behaviour.
