Impairment-Aware WDM Network Dimensioning with Optimized Regenerator Placement

Abstract

This paper focuses on WDM networks employing selective regeneration and studies jointly the network design and regeneration placement considering the physical network performance. Simulation results show substantial savings in regenerator requirements compared to existing approaches.
