Estimation of Phase Ripple Penalties for 40 Gb/s NRZ-DPSK Transmission

Abstract

Phase ripple penalties generated by up to 6 fiber-Bragg gratings are determined through simulations and experiments of 40G NRZ-DPSK transmission. A practical approach to estimating the phase ripple impact on the system performance is proposed.
