Bandwidth Reduction via Localized Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Video on NG-PON

Abstract

Video distribution using P2P that can be localized to within the same access network is examined. With NG-PON, nearly all unicast video could be delivered via localized P2P; lowering core Internet bandwidth by 43%.
