High density thermoplastic ferrule for optical interconnection

Abstract

48-fiber thermoplastic MT ferrule is developed. The fiber hole position error is below 2.5 µm and the insertion loss is below 0.5 dB. The ferrule is cost effective compared with conventional thermosetting ferrule.
