Nodal Contention in Colorless, Directionless ROADMs using Traffic Growth Models

Abstract

We study the impact of intra-node contention in colorless, directionless ROADMs under traffic growth conditions. Our results indicate that modular add/drop banks provide blocking performance approaching that of contentionless architectures.
