Effective Flow Protection in OpenFlow Rings

Abstract

A scalable flow protection mechanism enabling fast resilience in OpenFlow-based ring networks is proposed without involving the controller. Experimental tests demonstrate that the achieved recovery time depends only on the time required for physical detection.
