Abstract

Mode-locking in different types of semiconductor lasers as a method of picosecond and subpicosecond pulses generation is intensively studied for more than 20 years. It is known that multisegment laser diodes (LDs) integrated with saturable absorbers have important advantages for this purpose [1].
