Experimental Study Of Forward Phase Conjugate Wave In Four Wave Mixing In LiNbO3 :Fe Crystal

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Forward phase-conjugate wave in four wave mixing in photorefractive crystal LiNbO3: Fe was studied. The experimental setup used here is that both pump beams I1 and I2 are perpendicular to the surface of the crystal (i.e. I1 and I2 beams are perpendicular to c-axes of the crystal), the incident angle θ of signal beam I4 is varied from 10° ~ 40°. Both the forward and the backward phase conjugate image were observed at same time. The intensity of forward phase conjugate wave Ipf is comparable to the intensity of backward phase conjugate wave Ipb. For pump beam intensity I1 = I2 and θ = 30°, the intensity ratio of J 1 2 forward phase conjugate wave and backward phase conjugate wave Ipf/Ipb = 0.37 while the phase conjugate reflectivity Rph = 1.36.
