Abstract

In a microscopic approach to single-mode semiconductor laser dynamics, the nonlinear dependence of interband carrier lifetime on optical field intensity accounts for some nonlinearities in the characteristic curve appearing in the weak feedback regime.

The comparison with actual optical communication systems is discussed.
