Abstract
We have previously reported the observation of all-optical demultiplexing, where the signal and control pulse trains had different polarizations [1]. We used a nonlinear directional coupler, fabricated in AlGaAs and operated at half the band-gap. However, the use of different polarizations resulted in a far from optimum demonstration of demultiplexing; pulse break-up was present and the different polarizations had different coupling lengths. Below we report on more recent results where different wavelengths and different pulse duration are used to improve the demultiplexing operation.
