Nonlinear Bragg diffraction and solitary waves in multi-dimensional resonant periodic structures

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The formation and propagation of nonlinear solitary waves under Bragg condition in 2D and 3D periodic resonant structures is described by analytical and numerical solutions of two-wave diffraction Maxwell-Bloch equations. The existence of nonlinear solitary waves both in the Bragg and in the Laue geometry of diffraction has been shown. The dynamics of gap pulse amplification in gain grating is also studied.
