Nonlinear periodic structure as a polarization switcher

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The binary layered plane periodic structure consisted of isotropic linear and nonlinear materials is considered. It was shown that by changing the polarization state of pumping wave which produces anisotropy in nonlinear layers, the condition for full transmission through such laminated structure will be changed in dependence on polarization state of normally incident signal wave. This effects can be used for high efficient polarization mode switcher design.
