The Hermite-Gaussian expansion for the soliton propagation in the regime of strong dispersion management

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We develop a theory of soliton propagation in the regime of strong dispersion management, based on the expansion over the Hermite-Gaussian functions. We present, in explicit form, (i) the conditions for stationary propagation of the soliton, (ii) the soliton’s shape, and (iii) the perturbation theory for the DM soliton.
