Abstract
Recently there has been intensive research on pulse propagation in dispersion-managed fibers, where pieces of fiber with opposite signs of dispersion are concatenated periodically (see, e.g., [1] and references therein). When the local dispersion lengths are much smaller than the nonlinear and the average dispersion lengths, it is termed strong dispersion management (DM) regime.
