Abstract

A numerical simulation procedure for analyzing soliton pulse train propagation in lossy optical fibers is presented. The model equation in normalized units considered in this analysis is the non-linear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) with a losses term included [1] where Z and T are, respectively, the spatial and temporal normalized coordinates, q is the potential function (lightwave electric field normalized complex amplitude), and Γ is the normalized damping rate.
