Abstract

Vector solitons are solitons that consist of two (or more) components that mutually selftrap in a nonlinear medium. They were first suggested by Manakov [1] in the context of the Kerr nonlinearity, which leads to two cubic Non-Linear Schrodinger Equations (NLSEs) coupled through the nonlinear terms.
