Abstract
Multi-pulse operation of soliton lasers has been reported sporadically over the last decade. The break-up of single pulses into double or multiple pulses was observed in both Kerr-lens mode-locked (KLM) [1] and semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) [2] mode-locked solid-state lasers when the pump power was increased.
