Noise induced dynamics of a Bose-Einstein condensate in optical trap

Abstract

The dynamics of a Bose-Einstein condensate confined in optical trap is studied taking into consideration fluctuations of the laser field intensity. The noise can delay or even arrest the collapse of a condensate with negative scattering length.
