Determination of escape angles in quadratic bulk experiments with two identical solitons

Abstract

We derive and verify numerically an expression which, even in a Gaussian approximation, correctly predicts the inwards escape angle, separating fusion and crossing in soliton collisions, and the outwards escape angle, below which solitons moving apart will fuse.
