Abstract
A single shot technique is described for differentiating slow nuclear contributions to the nonlinear response from fast electronic nonlinear response. This approach used chirped ultrafast laser pulses to measure the non-instantaneous nuclear contribution to the response of nonlinear materials by energy transfer in a two beam coupling experiment. By using temporal delay across the spatial profile of a chirped ultrashort laser pulse with a tilted pulse front, the response is conveniently mapped into space on a single shot basis.
