On the use of balanced error correcting codes to control acoustic jitter in long-haul soliton transmission systems

Abstract

An investigation on the application of short balanced error correcting codes to control acoustic jitter in long-haul high speed soliton transmission systems has been carried out. Codes suitable to act as inner codes in concatenated coding schemes have been used in our simulations.
