Derivation of Dispersion-Managed Soliton (DMS) parameters for a given dispersion map by second order moments.

Abstract

We derive, by using second-order moments, simple and explicit approximate expressions to predict the chirp and peak power of a pulse propagating through a given dispersion management map for which loss is compensated by lumped amplifiers. Numerical simulations confirm the accuracy of the model used.
