Experimental study of thermal poling in holey fibres

Abstract

Thermal poling of holey fibres is demonstrated for the first time. Non-phase matched second harmonic generation with a ~10−8/W conversion efficiency was observed and we studied the evolution of the electro-optic coefficient with poling time.
