Nonlinear refractive effects in rubidium vapour due to optical pumping

Abstract

We model nonlinear dispersive effects near the rubidium D lines, using a master equation approach that considers the hyperfine structure and isotopes of rubidium. We also present new experimental results that are in agreement with the model.
