Anisotropic charge displacement supporting isolated photorefractive optical needles

Abstract

Strong asymmetry in charge distribution supporting a single non-interacting spatial needle soliton in a paraelectric photorefractive is observed through electroholographic readout. The double-dipolar structure can be made to support two distinct modes.
