Abstract

We have recently succeeded in transmitting an ultrafast OTDM signal which exceeds 1 Tbit/s over 70 km with the adoption of nonlinear optical fiber devices such as soliton compressor, DI-NOLM for pulse shaping, and NOLMfor Terabit/s demultiplexing. In this talk, key technologies for ultrahigh-speed OTDM transmission are described.
