Optical switching in nonlinear photonic crystals micro-resonators

Abstract

We present numerical simulations of optical bistable switching in a 2d nonlinear photonic crystal containing a waveguide and micro-cavity resonator. We discuss all-optical switching properties with an instantaneous and noninstantaneous Kerr type of nonlinearity.
