Abstract

Synchronously pumped cw mode locked optical parametric oscillators (OPO) are ideal sources for tunable ultrashort pulses in the visible and near infrared spectral region. They can be tuned over a wide wavelength range and picosecond and sub-picosecond pulses have been obtained already with substantial average and peak powers [1,2].
