Abstract
The photorefractive gratings may be used for holographic information storage and for other applications. The simplest hologram are recorded by sinusoidal interference pattern with intensity I(x,t)=Io+Io(m/2·exp{iqx}+c.c.), where Io is the total intensity of interacting waves, q is the spatial frequency of fringes, m is the contrast of interference pattern. If the contrast to approaches to 1 the sinusoidal form of holographic grating Is distorted by the recording of higher spatial harmonics.
