Abstract

Nonlinear optics is characterized with the conversion nonlinearly proportional to the pump intensity. This conversion, on the one hand, may be increased by using an intense light beam to excite a medium. On the other hand, various nonlinear optical processes may compete with each other. Thus study of the nonlinear competition is of both theoretical and pratical importance.
