Quasi-phase-matching in GaAs-AlAs superlattice waveguides via bandgap tuning using quantum well intermixing

Abstract

We report the observation of quasi-phase-matched second harmonic generation in GaAs-AlAs superlattice waveguides. Quasi-phase-matching was achieved by modulating the bulk-like second-order susceptibility with a bandgap shift induced using selective area quantum well intermixing.
