Managing nonlinearity in strongly dispersion-managed optical pulse transmission

Abstract

The role of nonlinearity on quasi-linear pulse transmission in dispersion-managed systems is studied. The phase shift and spectral reshaping due to nonlinearity are quantified. The spectral characteristics are found to depend strongly on the relative position of the amplifier.
