Carbon-black suspension based broadband optical limiter

Abstract

A cascaded-focus optical limiter using carbon suspensions has been demonstrated to clamp the output near 1 microJoule for input pulses at several wavelengths throughout the visible spectrum. The device was tested up to 60 mJ without damage.
